Our client, Boralex (TSX: BLX), is a major player in renewable energy, specializing in four sectors: wind, solar, hydroelectricity and storage. Founded over 30 years ago, the company develops, builds, and operates renewable energy production sites in Canada, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States. With the future of the planet at heart, Boralex is actively participating in the fight against global warming, one project at a time.
Boralex is looking for a legal advisor to join its team, already composed of six professionals to cover the needs of the North American territory.
Based in our downtown Montreal offices, and reporting to the Vice President, Legal Affairs for North America, your role will be to assist and work very closely with business leaders in the strategic positioning of various projects and in the assessment of associated legal risks. You’ll be involved in M&A transactions, tendering processes, project financing, setting up large-scale partnerships with municipalities, Indigenous nations or other parties involved, and negotiating construction contracts or the purchase of wind turbines and other major equipment. You will be called upon to support operations and intervene in commercial matters, contract interpretation and dispute management. You will also act as a point of contact with external lawyers in the relevant jurisdictions.
Are you interested in business law? Are you interested in the renewable energies sector? If you like variety, are looking for a “hands-on”, business-oriented role, and want to join a dynamic, growing, entrepreneurial team, we’d like to talk. To qualify, you must be bilingual and a member of the Quebec Bar to qualify. Knowledge of the energy, construction or infrastructure sectors will be considered a strong asset. Ref.: . #33192
This is a mandate entrusted exclusively to ZSA. CVs sent and contacts made with Boralex will be forwarded to ZSA for evaluation.
