Our client, the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC), is the bank for Canadian entrepreneurs. BDC is looking to hire a National Assistant Vice President, Legal Services. Reporting to the National Vice President, Legal Affairs – Financing, to manage a team of lawyers in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. You will be pivotal in supporting the organization’s business goals and strategic initiatives by offering expert legal advice on loan structuring, security, and financing, while actively enhancing processes and products at BDC. Your expertise in drafting and reviewing complex agreements will be key, as well as your ability to clearly communicate complex legal matters to diverse stakeholders.
BDC is looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, experience managing a team of lawyers, and a desire to problem solve and come up with thoughtful innovative solutions. To qualify, you must have relevant experience in a sophisticated business environment and be a member of the Bar of Quebec or another Canadian province. Bilingualism is a prerequisite and commercial real estate experience, a strong asset.
